Use of ultraviolet radiation for the suppression of airborne viral disease spread
December 11, 2023Olografia Digitale nello Short Wave Infrared, verso un dispositivo portatile per la visione attraverso fumo e fiamme.
December 11, 2023CNR-INO organises a free Online Training on IR Digital Holography applications: “Vision through smoke and flames” and “Remote monitoring of buildings”.
The training will be held on December 12th, 2023 at 10.00 CET by our Researchers dr. Massimiliano Locatelli and dr. Eugenio Pugliese.
IRDH can image a scene completely hidden by smoke and flames. Such a capability is highly desirable due to its potential application in the field of fire rescue, since vision in such impaired conditions is not allowed by the current visible and thermal imaging systems. On the contrary, IRDH would let rescuers move safely in a fire scenario and would help them in identifying/individuating human beings or things hidden by smoke and flames.
IRDH can also be used to experimentally measure, from remote distance, the amplitude and frequencies of large structure normal oscillation modes. These parameters are crucial to establish the seismic vulnerability and the health state of the structure. Our system has a sensitivity of 0.1 micron in the displacement measurement and has various advantages with respect to existing devices such as seismometric sensors, radar, and so on.
The training is organised in the framework of the project PhotonHub Europe.
PhotonHub has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Grant Agreement n. 101016665, in Public Private Partnership with Photonics21.
